I had the pleasure of designing Kelly Johnson Bumgarner’s bridesmaids' necklaces for her wedding in November of 2012. Inspired by her fall wedding, and the foliage of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the former Virginia Tech cheerleader and proud Hokie fan chose eggplant, orange, and cream with gold undertones as her color scheme. The wedding took place at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia and was followed by a reception at Norfolk Yacht and Country Club with family and friends. Kelly looked classy and elegant as she danced the night away in her strapless lace mocha dress with a pearl belt for a vintage feel.
The bridesmaids wore an eggplant empire cut chiffon floor length dress. Kelly wanted a statement piece to accessorize the dress that her friends would be able to wear again and again with multiple looks. After many different sample necklaces we found the perfect design. The twisted multicolored freshwater pearls, white glass pearls, Swarovski crystals, and gold chain completed the bridesmaid look and went with the overall fall, vintage theme. I also designed a similar bracelet for her flower girl.
The bride later told me of the compliments the bridal party received and how much they girls enjoyed their necklaces, which were part of the bridesmaid gifts. I was honored to be a part of Kelly's special day. For more information on customized wedding pieces please feel free to contact me.
