We believe that mothers are true superheroes.  They juggle many different jobs on a daily basis from being a mom, a wife, a business owner, a friend, a chef, and the list goes on.  Recently, we did a photoshoot with working moms that we want to celebrate this Mother's Day.

Chelsea Goer is a talented artist in Charleston, SC.  Her studio is at located in a local art gallery, Charleston Artist Collective where she paints Lowcountry themes like oysters, surfers, driftwood, and colorful figures.

When did you start your business?

I have been a professional artist for about 12 years, but I didn’t take the leap to work full time on Chelsea Goer Art until about five years ago.

How would you describe your personal style?

I’d say sort of minimalist 90s.

How did you discover Hermosa Jewelry?

I met Haley right out of college through friends and we ended up in the same part of town. She opened her shop right around from my art studio a few years ago and we’ve always just had fun talking business and enjoying living in our area of Charleston. It’s nice to have friends who understand being in a creative industry.

What is your favorite piece of Hermosa Jewelry to wear?

Haley made me some custom gold hoops with a misshapen pearl a while back that I love. They go great with a pair of loose trousers and a white tee or a vintage slip dress.

What is your secret to balancing running a business and being a wife and mother?

Mostly it’s remembering to go easy on myself, knowing I do a lot and sometimes I won’t meet expectations and it’s all okay. Also, I prioritize myself. I don’t think it’s selfish to make sure I feel okay. When I am happy with myself it carries through to motherhood, work, and life in general.
